We started Icons of Tech because the existing magazines no longer fit.

Icons of Tech is a monthly magazine about the people, ideas, and aesthetics shaping the next decade of technology, film, and culture. We write long. We write seriously. We are not trying to be the fastest. We are trying, slowly, to be the best.

We are starting small. The first issues consolidate the best reporting and commentary from across the internet — assembled, edited, and framed in the spirit of the magazine. As we grow, we will replace the consolidated pieces, one by one, with original reporting and long-form interviews with the people we believe will define the era.

A magazine should look at the world the way a serious person looks at a stranger — closely, patiently, and with the expectation of being surprised.
